Follow in the footsteps of the great Irish Celtic saints as you are transported to another time and place, the largest island in Strangford Lough, Mahee island, site of a 7thCentury monastic settlement. A spiritual, tranquil place. Travel on to Bangor Abbey and to North Down Museum where there is a fantastic exhibition telling the story of the rich Christian heritage of the area. You will learn about inspirational saints such as Columbanus and Gall. Our final visit is to the Cistercian Abbey at Greyabbey.
What clients said
“Thank you very much for a most memorable day, which transported us so vividly back in time and captured the essence of this ancient land. The lives of the Irish monks of long ago were opened to us, and we shared the bread and fruit which they would have eaten.
We rated the experience as excellent and we would recommend the tour to others
