Journey on this coastal odyssey along the Outer Ards Peninsula and hear the stories of the rich maritime heritage and the heroism of the men who went to the rescue of the shipwrecked. We will stop off at Burr Point, the most easterly point on the island of Ireland. Discover where the smugglers caves are and how they evaded detection while drinking in the beauty all around you. We will visit Templecooey, a spiritual, serene site on the Irish Sea coast where St Cooey built a church and where people came on pilgrimage to visit the Holy Wells which are believed to have healing powers. You will learn about the extraordinary life of St Cooey and how he is remembered today.
