Join Brigid Watson for an entertaining and informative gentle walking tour of one of the most historic, ancient towns in Ireland. The location of prehistoric settlement, Downpatrick became one of the most important spiritual sites in Ireland in Christian times. Saint Patrick is buried on Cathedral Hill and after his death the site became an important pilgrimage site through the centuries.

Important archaeological finds were made in recent years in the grounds of the magnificent Down Cathedral. You will learn about these finds, the historic buildings in the Cathedral area and notable people associated with the town.
