This walk starts from outside the Lobster Pot restaurant in the village square. We leave the village at the end of Castle Street and go through the Squeeze Gut which leads over the hill behind the village. We walk through a mixed woodland area to the shores of Strangford Lough where you will see seabirds and maybe a seal on the rocks. This is a circular walk and returns to Strangford via tree-lined Dufferin Avenue. Back in the village learn about Strangford’s maritime history and hear stories of smuggling and the influence of the sea on life locally.
This walk is 2km of generally flat terrain with an ascent of a small hill at the beginning.
